If you love Asian foods of all kinds you will be in foodie heaven at 8 street. It’s a hawker food market with food stalls from all different Asian countries including China, Japan, Vietnam, Taiwan, Phillipines and Thailand. If you’ve been craving Asian food, look no further.
We started with the vegetable pancake from BingBing 8 which was a medley of shredded vegetables wrapped in a savoury crepe.
Next was Japanese food from Shannon Kamakura. We had karaage chicken, california maki and yuzu pannacotta. The karaage was a crowd fave, the maki was fresh.
The yuzu pannacotta was super smooth and absolutely delish,
From Non La we had a fried chicken bahn mi with crispy chicken and pickled vegetables.
The pad Thai noodles from Pok pok junior were full of flavour.
And their crispy pork belly was deep-fried and wonderful and accompanied with a little vine of peppercorns. So yum.
Then we moved onto some dumplings from North east china family. We had some steamed pork dumplings.
And pork wontons in chilli oil which were awesome.
From yummy dockland we tried the beef slice sizzling plate which was tender and served on special fried rice with vegetables.
The lechon from GJ’s grill was probably my fave. Juicy pork with crispy crackling, sticky garlic rice and pickled veg to cut through the fat. It was so so good.
The ma la tang combination was a soup with lots of different meats and veggies.
We ended on pearl milk tea and bubble waffles from Happy lemon.
We had the plain and chocolate bubble waffles with cheese dipping sauce. At first I was like cheese? But It was like a liquid cream cheese and it went really well with the waffles.
After eating at 8 Street you’re probably going to want to play some games at Archie’s which is right next door and has a bunch of arcade games which are heaps of fun.
I heart 8 street!
