Angus and Bon is a New York style steakhouse but has now opened for brunch on the weekend and are serving up some satisfying breakfast options from 9 in the AM. The decor is classic and the food is comforting and what I can guarantee is a hearty breakfast full of flavour. They have some light options, some heavier ones, or you can go all out and get the full Angus & Bon breakfast with all the trimmings, black pudding included. So much yes.
The coffee here is really good.
We had the wild mushrooms with coddled egg which their signature dish for brekky and holy moly it is all kinds of good. It had a silky custard like consistency with flavours of butter and eggs. The sautéed wild mushrooms were placed on top and were cooked with care. They had been beautifully browned which added a nice texture instead of it all being mush. It was served with a thick piece of charred country loaf which was the perfect vehicle to mop up all of that deliciousness with.
If you love a big breakfast the Angus & Bon full brekky will knock your socks off. It has all the things you want and every part of it is delicious including that rich black sausage. It comes with a couple of poached eggs, sautéed wild mushies, roasted tomatoes, a crispy duck fat potato hash and some ham hock beans which were super tasty.
