Bistro Morgan is the home of those delicious doughnuts you’ve seen on insta with syringes full of Nutella, jam, salted caramel etc. They’re hand-dipped artisan doughnuts, made fresh daily in small batches out of their Windsor store. The seventeen-year old genius behind this operation Morgan Hipworth started his business at the young age of 13 – talk about ambition.
We started with the gaytime crunch doughnut and gaytime milkshake (matchy matchy). It was a brioche doughnut so it was super soft and sweet, dipped in chocolate with honeycomb crunch (oh that gaytime crumb) and a salted caramel syringe. This matching doughnut/milkshake combo was a winner.
‘Off with the fairies’ was a beetroot brioche doughnut and was pretty in pink with butter frosting and 100’s & 1000’s on top and a strawberry jam syringe. It was fun to squiggle the jam over the doughnut.
The nom nom doughnut was dipped in white chocolate with mini marshmallows and oreo crumb sprinkled over the top with a Nutella filled syringe.
For me the crème brulee doughnut was a show stopper. It had a bruleed top and was filled with a generous amount of smooth vanilla bean custard. Absolutely divine.
The ‘Netflix ‘n’ chill’ was dipped in chocolate with a mousse-like brownie batter filling, caramel drizzle, popcorn crumb and big chunks of chocolate brownie on top. Pure indulgence.
Bruno Mars was a brioche doughnut covered in white chocolate with lashings of salted caramel (like amazing salted caramel that you eat tons of on its own) and mars bar pieces placed on top.
They also have some delicious looking vegan doughnut options which is always great to see.
Even though your new year resolution was to eat healthy, there will probably be a time when you’re craving a sweet treat and Bistro Morgan will be there to catch your fall.
