Charlie dumpling does dumplings but not as you know them. The flavours they dabble with are creative and are executed well which is important when you’re stepping out of the box. They have cheeseburger dumplings, green curry dumplings and even sweet milk chocolate dumplings just to name a few. It a casual place where you can get some drinks and some dumplings which makes for a great night.
The snapper, lime and chilli dumplings with black bean dressing were good. I liked the super thin skin and the filling was tasty. The black bean sauce was subtle and had an aromatic, sweet and sour flavour.
The crispy salmon and kaffir lime leaf dumplings were fried and sat in a bowl of tasty thai green curry. The green curry sauce was full of flavour, the salmon melted in your mouth.
The wagyu cheese burger dumplings genuinely tasted like a cheeseburger. So weird but so delicious. They were filled with mont jack aged cheddar, caramalised onions, tomato, mustard and a pickle on top. If you like cheeseburgers and you like dumplings, this one's for you.
And for dessert, dumplings. The milk chocolate dumplings had a fried batter with melted chocolate inside and were topped with popping candy, raspberry gel and sherbet.
Charlie dumpling is a great place to visit if you want dumplings with a twist.
I heart Charlie Dumpling!
