Dear Liza is a café hidden on the corner of St Kilda and Alma roads. They do a mean chicken and waffles and a cloud egg omelette to boot.
The soufflé omelette looked like nothing I had seen before. It was plate of eggy meringue puffs of cloud. It was super light when you eat it and it had a cheesy herb flavour. It came with a tomato and chargrilled corn bruchetta on the side which added a nice freshness to the dish.
The chicken and waffles were amazing. The waffles were fluffy and the fried chicken had crunch, spices and was juicy inside. It had bacon butter on top which was salty and then we poured some maple over the top for sweetness. Great combo of textures and flavoured. Loved it.
Their onion rings are bomb. They’re crispy, seasoned well and are super delish. They come with BBQ sauce for dipping. A good side for whatever you decide to order.
I heart Dear Liza!
