When I think of Fourth chapter, I think of gorgeous instagrammable dishes that taste even better than they look. The menu is relatively healthy but that doesn’t mean they skim on flavour, the food is abundant and super tasty. If you’re a dog lover you might be in for a patting frenzy because people often bring their dogs (so cute) and if you have a dog yourself you can treat them to a special puppy breakfast from the menu, peanut butter on toast.

Good coffee.

We started with the smashed avo, guess we’re not looking to buy a house anytime soon so it’s all good hehe. It was smashed avo with broad beans over a slice of rye bread with toasted pepita and pomegranate sprinkled over the top which added texture but also a sweetness and toasty flavour, brilliant combo. Then there was a poched egg and saganaki draped over the top which reminded me of Dali’s melting clocks in ‘the persistence of memory.’ In short, it was a cracker of a dish.

The French toast with forest mushrooms was great because I’m used to always having sweet French toast so it was nice to try a savoury rendition. The French toast was a thick slice of brioche and was topped with crème fraiche and a medley of mushies that were juicy and full of flavour. It also came with two poached eggs and had a sharp parmesan cheese thinly shaved over the top.

We ended on the raspberry and coconut pancakes which were amazing and also super filling. It was a three-pancake-stack and each pancake had a crumbly outer and was super moist in the middle with raspberry and coconut throughout. Around the stack were pieces of vanilla meringue, fresh strawberries and raspberries and a scoop of coconut ice cream on top with maple to pour over. Definitely one for those who love a sweet brunch.
I heart Fourth Chapter!
