Fratellino is one of my faves when it comes to a casual night of pizza and pasta. It’s a family owned restaurant that has a comforting vibe that makes you feel at home. Their pizza dough is wood-fired and I can only describe it as heaven. It’s unassuming and super tasty. None of that fancy, fusion, modern stuff just good quality traditional Italian food.
The potato, garlic and rosemary focaccia is a must. It’s more of a pizza, like a garlic pizza with paper thin slices of potato and cheese and it’s blow your mind delicious. It’s simple and delicate and just works so well. Get this as a starter to share, you won’t be disappointed.
Fettucini carbonara is a classic. This one had a creamy cream sauce with lots of fried bacon and spring onions.
The tortellini is big squares of beef filled pasta with amatriciana sauce which was a red Napoli sauce with bacon, salami, olives and chilli.
You can choose which pasta and which sauce. This was the amatriciana with fettuccini.
The tiramisu is house-made and it’s a good one. The creamy mascarpone and coffee-soaked sponge is a classic and they make it in little glasses.
I heart Fratellino!
