Glace - Windsor
Glace - Windsor

Walking into a yellow submarine is where the fun starts at glace. Christie Tania is that amazing dessert chef behind this operation. You might remember her on the most recent series of Masterchef where she created a floating dessert with an edible sugar balloon. This kind of creativity is reflected in her new dessert venture in Windsor, Glace. They have a beautiful selection of ice creams and icecream desserts including frozen macarons, eclairs, smores and icecream cakes. There are also hot desserts to eat with your icecream like sticky date pudding or chocolate lava cake and they have a coffee roastery on the side for your morning coffee fix. It’s more than just an icecream store.

One of their signature desserts are the range of push pops. Yep remember those cylinder tubes where you push the contents upwards as you eat it. They have an icecream version of those. They are layered with icecream, sauce and bits and pieces like cake, meringue or choc chips. It creates a bit of nostalgia and is fun to eat.

They also have a variety of traditional icecream served in scoops. You can have it in a container or in a black charcoal waffle cone. They have some interesting flavours like lamington with coconut icecream, chocolate brownie and a swirl of raspberry sorbet, or Charlie bucket with banana icecream, peanut butter swirl, butterscotch and banana bread (love when icecream has cake bits in it!). But I have to say the pistachio icecream with raspberry sorbet swirl was my absolute favourite. The pistachio flavour was prominent and the texture was rich and creamy with a little bit of tartness from the raspberry. So good.

The ice-cream macarons were fantastic. Even though they were frozen, they maintained the soft crumble and chew of a traditional macaron. And then they were filled with a thick layer of icecream.

The eclairs were great too. The photo is of the sample bites, they are usually served as a regular full sized eclair. They had a variety of flavours and they were well executed. It felt like I was eating a normal éclair except that when I bit into it it was cold and filled with icecream which was a delicious surprise. There were heaps of good flavours but the lemon meringue eclair was all kinds of amazing.

They also had frozen smores and icecream cakes too.

This isn’t just your regular ice-cream store. Expect to be taken on an adventure of creative ice-cream desserts.

I heart Glace!
