When my hubby and I walked out of Misoya sake bar we said the same thing to each other, “felt like we were in Japan for a moment’. The food transported us right back to Japan for the evening with unpretentious and flavourful food made with care. The ramen definitely gave me the warm fuzzies.
It was a nice little space.
We started with the ume sake which was cloudy in appearance and had a beautiful fruity flavour.
The gyoza were pan fried with that crispy flat top that connects all of the gyozas. The skin was lovely and delicate and the filling was delish. We ate them with black vinegar.
The ramen came in a chicken broth that blows your mind. It was packed with flavour and balanced well. The noodles were fresh and had a good chew. The chashu pork belly was cut thick, the egg had a sticky gooey yolk and I the seaweed carried that beautiful flavour of the broth on its back.
The karaage chicken had juicy chicken in the middle with a lightly battered crunch.
I heart Misoya!
