The Glen shopping centre has had a revamp and there’s a new foodie area with lots of good places to eat. Miss Pings is one of the new restaurants and they’re serving up tasty Thai food.
We started with the toasted coconut prawns which are a must. They have a charcoal coating that adds crunch and are topped with sriracha lime mayo and salted peanut and coconut flakes. This was unique and super delicious.
The Thai fried chicken was marinated with satayish flavours, had a crispy batter and was sliced into bite sizes pieces to dip into the sweet chilli sauce.
I loved the crispy barramundi in choo chee curry. The barramundi was lightly battered and deep fried and the curry had a yellowy colour and was spicy, sweet and coconut creamy. Perfect with a bowl of rice.
The prawn glass noodles were full of flavour with lovely notes of garlic, ginger, lemongrass and soy. The big king prawns were served on top, kindly shelled with the heads still intact.
For dessert we had the traditional mango and sticky rice dish which is a Thai classic. The mango was fresh and sweet and I loved the texture of the sticky rice. It had a sweet and salty vibe with a coconut sauce that you pour over the top which was quite salty which I found interesting.
We ended on the sweet banana roti with condensed milk poured over the top and coconut ice-cream. The coconut icecream was phenomenal I could have eaten a tub of it. The roti had two pieces layered on top of each other with banana in the middle which made it easy to pick up and eat and condensed milk just makes everything better.
I heart Miss Pings!
