Punjab Curry Cafe has been around for over 10 years and it's no wonder people keep coming back - it's a great place to eat a North Indian feast. They have traditional flavours and techniques down pat and it shows in the food.
We started with the little pani puri puffs which are little crispy shells you eat in one mouthful after pouring the sweet, sour, spicy liquid in.
The tandoori mushrooms were delicious. I'm used to tandoori chicken and have never tried mushrooms cooked this way but the tandoor charred flavour was delish.
Samosas are a classic and they do them well. The pastry on the samosas was lovely with the spicy beef filling.
The chicken momos were amazing. The skin was thin and the chicken filling was delicious. They came with a sweet sesame tomato chutney.
Paneer is cheese so when we saw deep fried paneer we were all over it. It was lightly battered, deep-fried and seasoned. Good to snack on.
The butter chicken was tasty, full of flavour, creamy and rich.
The naan was cooked in the tandoor and was light and fluffy. The plain naan was yum but I loved the garlic one even more.
We had plain rice with the curry but we also tried the rice with fruit and nuts. It was orange like that Indian sweet jalebi was super sweet and tasty.
We finished with gulab jamun in a bowl with pistachio kulfi which was a lovely sweet to end our curry feast.
I heart Punjab Curry Cafe!
