Rice workshop is good place to pop in for a quick lunch or dinner and get a rice bowl that tastes yum on the cheap. Recently Michelin star chef Masahiko Yomoda has joined forces with Rice Workshop to create a special truffle wagyu donburi (rice bowl) for under $10. Now that’s good value.
The rice bowl had thin slices of wagyu beef over a bed of rice. This was topped with a soft slow cooked 62 degree egg and covered with a creamy truffle aioli with spring onions on top. The creamy truffle sauce was a great addition to this wagyu donburi.
The crispy fried chicken wings were a good side dish, they had a crunchy batter and a wasabi mayo to dip them in.
They have other rice bowls too, karaage chicken, salmon etc. They also do a yummy tempura prawn udon noodle soup.
For dessert we had green tea soft-serve. You can’t leave Rice Workshop without trying their green tea and/or black sesame soft serve. They are well known for it and it is delish. The green tea flavour is prominent but it’s not too strong so if you’re not used to the bitterness of green tea you might still like this. It has a good green tea to milk ratio. You can choose to have your soft-serve in a normal waffle cone or charcoal black one. Both are good.
It’s a great place to pop by for a cheap lunch or dinner in the city. And with their new truffle wagyu bowl, even more reason to pop on by.
I heart Rice Workshop!
