Super Ling have opened in Carlton and are getting a name for their luscious house-made noodles and incredible mapo tofu jaffles. When you’re hankering some modern Chinese food this is the place to visit.
The mapo tofu jaffle is a must. It’s a round buttery jaffle filled with tofu and minced pork with chestnuts and Sichuan peppers. It’s got a good amount of spice and puts a big smile on your face. The only issue is trying to restrain yourself from ordering ten more.
The okra was fried with anchovies which gave them that good slimy texture and salty flavour.
The house-made noodles are fresh and you can taste it. You can customise your noodles just the way you like it with pork broth or dry. They have a range of toppings to choose from like pepper chicken. Black bean beef, fragrant eggplant, mapo tofu or if you’re game, the offal. Then you can choose your add-ons like egg, veg, Chinese doughnut etc. We had the noodles with black bean beef and for only 12 bucks it was a steal.
