If you’re in the city looking for a downright delicious burger, look no further. The people who brought you those epic Nutella stacked doughnuts from Nuts About Tella are now making burgers. They’re located in RMIT building 12 and you don’t have to be a student to head on over.
The store and menu was inspired by Kanye West so if you’re a Kanye fan you’ll appreciate this place even more (from the artwork to the burger names and the music). We started with ‘the college dropout’ burger which had two beef patties, a crispy fried chicken fillet, north west sauce (spicy mayo) and loads of melted American cheese in between a grilled brioche bun. This was an absolute winner.
We also tried the ‘Amazing’ burger which was a vegetarian option with a big juicy Portobello mushroom and strips of grilled halloumi with tomato and lettuce in a brioche bun.
The chicken and chips were tasty. The chicken fillets were crispy on the outside with southern flavours and juicy on the inside with chips seasoned with peri peri spices.
The birthday cake milkshake tasted like vanilla cake batter with rainbow sprinkles which was delicious and why not top it with a Nutella filled doughnut with sprinkles?
Lastly the leaning tella of pisa that Nuts About Tella are oh so popular for. This was four doughnuts flattened in a sandwich press then each layer filled with Nutella and peanut butter then garnished with slices of strawberry and crushed oreo. This was delicious and probably the most indulgent thing you’ll ever eat. Definitely should share this with a friend or two.
I heart The College Dropout!
