Spring is here and The Tamper Trap has a colourful brunch menu to get you excited. If you have a hankering for some smashed avo, poachies, fritters, smoothies, all of that yum stuff, they recently opened in Brighton and you should get yourself down there stat.
Lots of natural light inside.
We started with the soul cleanser because who doesn’t need a bit of soul cleansing after all of those winter nights spent ordering uber eats and operating whole weekends from the couch. This green smoothie is exactly what I needed, it was green, it was healthy and it was delicious. It had coconut water, lemon juice, kale, cucumber, avocado and a bit of matcha.
The sweet potato and zucchini fritters were tasty and filling. There were three big round fritters with smashed avo, tomato chutney and a poached egg on top. Not to mention that glorious halloumi we got on the side. Yum.
We had the smashed avo which was a mountain of smashed avo with feta and spiced dukkah mix sprinkled on top. This came with a poached egg and was served on multigrain. We were piglets so we added the sides of mushrooms and chorizo which was a great idea.
For something sweet we had the rhubarb and ricotta spiced hotcakes which had lots of cinnamon which was lovely and reminded me of warm chai flavours. It had a poached pear, spoons of rich chocolate mousse, a sweet and tart rhubarb compote, a little pot of burnt orange custard and pistachios. All the flavours went well together.
A great new place for brunch in Brighton.
I heart The Tamper Trap!
