Trei café is serving up healthy meals for breakfast and lunch proving healthy doesn’t have to be tasteless. You can have the flavour without the guilt. The food is fresh, tasty and full of colour.
We started brunch with some latte’s. Regular and matcha.
The sweet potato fries were perfection! You can’t leave here without trying them. They were crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle and paired with avocado salsa and a fresh squeeze of lime. Omg yum.
The nourish bowl was colourful, healthy and most importantly delicious. It had little roasted cubes of sweet potato, sesame kale, pickled cabbage, brown rice, beetroot hommus, sautéed mushrooms, avo, cherry tomatoes & almond butter dressing. We also added a poached egg. It was wonderful, each spoonful was different and each topping individually was flavourful. Eating this actually inspired me to make my own version of the nourish bowl for my work lunches the following week. Such a good healthy idea.
I was sad they were out of the coconut pancakes on the day because I’ve heard they’re good, but the next best thing was the banoffie French toast and we weren’t disappointed. It was twice cooked French toast which was soft and fluffy with a thick dulce de leche caramel, fresh banana pieces, mascarpone and cookie crumb for crunch.
If you’re near Glen Waverly, Trei café has all your brunching needs covered.
